Product Description

Home test for occult blood in stools
The Poly-Check Swiss Point of Care is a high-quality immunochromatographic self-test for the detection of blood in stools. The test can be used at home and is intended as a screening test for possible abnormal bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.

Why test for blood in the stool?
Blood in the stool can indicate various gastrointestinal conditions, such as haemorrhoids, fissures, polyps, colitis, ulcers or colorectal cancer. These conditions are not always visible or palpable and often cause few or no symptoms. A test for occult blood can therefore provide an important indication that further medical investigation is required.

The presence of blood in the stool does not in itself constitute a diagnosis of cancer or any other condition. Always discuss an abnormal result with a doctor.

Contents of the pack
1 test cassette in a sealed aluminium pouch
3 paper collection strips for stool samples
1 vial containing 2 ml of extraction solution
Instructions for use

Sample collection over 3 days
Polyps or other abnormalities do not always bleed continuously, but sometimes intermittently. For this reason, the Poly-Check® involves collecting samples over 3 consecutive days. This increases the likelihood of detecting any intermittent blood loss.

Important note
The Poly-Check is a screening test and is not a substitute for a medical examination. A positive or abnormal result does not automatically mean that cancer is present, but should always be discussed further with a doctor.
