Product Description

Rapid self-test for suspected gluten intolerance
The Gluten’Alarm Swiss Point of Care is a high-quality immunochromatographic self-test for the detection of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies in blood. These antibodies are often used as a screening marker when gluten intolerance or coeliac disease is suspected.

What is coeliac disease?
Coeliac disease is a chronic autoimmune disorder of the small intestine that can affect people with a genetic predisposition. The condition is caused by an intolerance to gluten, proteins found in foods such as wheat, barley and rye. Possible symptoms include chronic diarrhoea, abdominal pain, flatulence, weight loss, anaemia, osteoporosis, extreme fatigue and, in children, stunted growth.

Instructions for use

Screening for t-TG IgA antibodies
Blood tests for anti-tissue transglutaminase, also known as t-TG IgA antibodies, are often used as an initial screening test when coeliac disease is suspected. An abnormal result does not constitute a definitive diagnosis and must always be discussed with a doctor.

Important note
The Gluten’Alarm is a screening test and is not a substitute for medical examination or diagnosis. Do not start a gluten-free diet on your own initiative before undergoing medical examination, as this may affect the reliability of follow-up tests. If you receive an abnormal result or experience persistent symptoms, always consult a doctor.
