VitaGuard VG 2100 heart rate and apnea monitor:
What is this monitor for?
The VitaGuard® VG 2100 monitors the breathing and heart rate of patients of all ages,
providing medical staff and caregivers with the safety they need,
both in ambulatory and clinical settings.
The Vitaguard VG2100 heart rate and apnea monitor continuously records heart rate, ECG and
the respiratory signal. If breathing stops for longer than the predetermined period, or
if the heart rate rises or falls outside defined limits, an alarm signal is triggered immediately.
This data and the parameters are stored for preset periods, and
during and after the alarm episode. These data are available for immediate analysis
directly on the monitor or with the VitaWin PC software.
Operation and Detection of the Apnoea Monitor
The VitaGuard® VG 2100 generates audible and visual alarms when no breathing
or motion is detected for a preset time, i.e. central apnoea*, or
when the measured heart rate exceeds the limits set by the user.
A technical alarm is generated and a corresponding message displayed if an
electrode becomes detached.
Data storage
In the event of a physiological alarm, the measured values, associated waveforms and monitor settings are automatically stored for selectable periods before and after the event. More than 400 such events can be recorded in memory. Both manual and interval-controlled data storage is also possible.
Moreover, additional limits can be set to record certain events, silently. For example, if the silent lower heart frequency limit is set to 100/min, then any heart rate that falls below this limit is recorded silently by the monitor. In parallel with event-driven memory, the VG 2100 includes a trend of 144-hour loop memory and a 16-hour full-disclosure loop memory for continuous data storage.
Innovative technology - easy to use
Considering all its features, the versatile monitor weighs only about 660 grams. The clear layout of the controls ensures ease of use not only for clinical staff, but also for healthcare providers without prior medical or technical training. The numerous ways of powering the monitor, whether via the rechargeable power pack or single-use batteries, ensure a wide range of applications. Stored values and waveforms can be viewed directly on the monitor's high-resolution graphic LCD display. Alternatively, Getemed's VitaWin software allows data to be transferred to a PC via USB.
