Optimal heat and moisture exchange
The Portex Thermovent T2 Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME) has been developed for patients whose natural humidification of the upper airways has been bypassed by a tracheostomy tube or tracheal tube. The HME stores heat and moisture from exhaled air and releases it during the next inhalation. This ensures that the inhaled air is optimally conditioned and supports the airways.

Integrated suction and oxygen port
The Thermovent T2 is fitted with an integrated suction port, allowing a suction catheter to be inserted quickly and easily without removing the HME. This makes airway care more efficient and reduces interruptions to humidification.

In addition, the HME has a built-in oxygen port, allowing supplementary oxygen to be easily administered up to a concentration of 60 per cent, depending on the set oxygen flow rate.

Efficient filter with low breathing resistance
The original Portex Thermovent T-paper filter ensures excellent heat and moisture exchange with low breathing resistance. This keeps breathing comfortable, whilst providing optimal protection for the airways against drying out.
