Properties and functions
Cutimed Sorbion is a superabsorbent wound dressing for the treatment of wounds with moderate to (very) high levels of wound fluid. Cutimed Sorbion has a gel-forming core of superabsorbers (gel-forming polymers) and cellulose fibres that vertically absorbs and retains wound fluid. The core and wound contact layer are sealed using an ultrasonic technique. This means that no adhesives or binding agents are used, making Cutimed Sorbion well tolerated by the skin.

• Immediately after absorbing wound fluid, the dressing becomes supple and moulds itself to the wound bed


• The gel-forming core creates a moist wound environment


• The dressing remains stable and in shape no matter how saturated it is


• Excellent retention (even under compression) prevents maceration of the wound edges and leakage


• Absorbed wound fluid with micro-organisms, toxins and inflammatory factors (such as MMPs) are bound and trapped


• Supports autolytic debridement Cutimed Sorbion creates optimal conditions for wound healing.

Applications - Cutimed Sorbion is suitable for wounds with moderate to high wound fluid release: Chronic wounds such as venous, diabetic ulcers or pressure ulcers

Both sides are suitable for contact with the wound bed. Cutimed Sorbion should be replaced after a maximum of 7 days, depending on the clinical condition.

Variants
The Cutimed Sorbion range offers 2 variants where the wound contact layer makes the difference. The range of both variants offers many sizes and shapes, even an XL variant.
Cutimed Sorbion Sachet
The polypropylene wound contact layer of Cutimed Sorbion Sachet gently removes fibrinous deposits and necrotic tissue at every dressing change (soft debridement).
Cutimed Sorbion Sachet is available in standard sizes and:
- XL: for large areas, e.g. legs, chest or abdomen.
- Multi Star: flexible, round shape, e.g. for heels, feet, sacrum, chest, armpits or elbows
- S Drainage: for e.g. catheters and drainage

Cutimed Sorbion Sana
The polyethylene wound contact layer of Cutimed Sorbion Sana prevents adhesion to the wound bed. Cutimed Sorbion Sana is available in standard sizes and:
