Shiley Speaking ValveThe Shiley Speaking Valve is designed to enable speech in alert, spontaneously breathing patients with a tracheostomy. The speaking valve is fitted to the 15 mm connector on the tracheostomy tube and directs exhaled air via the vocal cords, nose and mouth. This allows the patient to communicate naturally once again.
Supports communicationA tracheostomy tube can significantly restrict speech. The Shiley Speaking Valve helps patients regain their voice by channelling the airflow through the upper airway during exhalation. This contributes to better communication and can improve quality of life.
Suitable for various applicationsThe Shiley Speaking Valve is compatible with most tracheostomy tubes featuring a universal 15 mm connector, including paediatric models. Depending on the version, the speaking valve is available with or without an additional oxygen port and a sealing cap. A sterile version is also available.
