Traditional work chairs allow only a limited hip angle. This makes it very tiring to keep your spine, neck and head in a favourable vertical position. Sitting properly with a small hip angle is almost impossible to maintain. Sitting upright then simply takes too much muscle power. As a result, you automatically slump and even work bent over.

Score Dental's saddle stools prevent this. Due to the unique shape of the saddle and the high seat, they open up your hip angle (up to 140 degrees) and tilt your pelvis. This brings your vertebrae, neck and head into a healthy vertical position ('neutral posture'; see below) as a matter of course. You maintain the healthy posture of standing, while also enjoying the benefits of the stability and comfort of traditional sitting.

2. You can sit closer to the patient
so have to bend forward less.
At a hip angle of 90 to 110 degrees, your legs often get in the way so much that you cannot sit properly close to your patient. This causes you to bend and strain your back more to look properly into the mouth.
Raising the treatment chair higher is not an option because you then have to lift your arms further, increasing the strain on your shoulders and neck.
On a Score Dental saddle stool, you sit high and with your upper legs pointed more downwards and sideways (instead of forward).
