Cutimed Gel promotes rapid and gentle debridement of necrotic tissue, while it can also absorb yellow dressing and excess wound fluid. It can also be used to create a moist wound environment, during the granulation phase of wound healing. Cutimed Gel is thus ideal for application at all stages of wound healing. Cutimed Gel is free of preservatives. This makes it suitable also for patients with sensitive, damaged skin.

Cutimed Gel is a clear, shapeless hydrogel consisting of:
- Purified water (provides hydration)
- Glycerine (prevents evaporation)
- Carbomer 940 (carrier for moisture, binds excess moisture)

Applications:
Cutimed Gel is ideally suited for:
- Promoting autolytic debridement in:
- Wounds with (dry) necrotic tissue
- Wounds with yellow deposits
- Promoting a moist wound environment in dry, red, granulating wounds
- Relieving pain in burn wounds, among others

Application:
Clean the wound according to local protocol. Cutimed Gel is easy to apply with the applicator or using a (sterile) spatula. It does not adhere to the wound and is easy to spread over the wound bed.

Depending on the type of wound, apply more or less gel (NB: use of a hydrogel makes wounds more moist, preventing too wet wounds/ macerating wound edges is a concern). Cover the gel with a secondary dressing, preferably one that maintains a moist wound environment.

Removal:
Cutimed Gel is easily removed with a gauze and/or by rinsing with NaCl 0.9% or sterile water. The amount of gel used and frequency of dressing change depends on the clinical condition of the wound and the amount of wound fluid. On average, the dressing can remain in place for 1 to 3 days.
