Properties and functions
Cuticell Contact is a thin silicone-based wound contact layer with unilateral adhesion. Cuticell Contact is transparent, flexible and has an open structure (perforated).
The skin-friendly silicone adhesive layer protects the wound bed and does not interfere with the wound-healing process. Cuticell Contact adheres only to dry skin and not to the moist wound bed. The silicone also protects the wound edges from softening. One-sided adhesion makes application, even with gloves, easy and Cuticell Contact adapts effortlessly to the contours of the wound bed.
Cuticell Contact does not need to be cut to size as it can be applied outside the wound edges. As Cuticell Contact is transparent and perforated, the wound bed is easy to inspect. The open structure allows unobstructed passage of exudate to the secondary dressing. In dry wounds, application of Cuticell Contact alone is sufficient.
Cuticell Contact does not stick to the secondary dressing and can remain on the wound for several days. Easy application and painless removal combined with the possibility of inspecting the wound offer users and patients great comfort.
