The AlgerBrush is designed for the specific purpose of removing rust rings from the eye.
Algerbrush rust ring drill bit incl. 1.0 mm drill bit
The AlgerBrush II is used by ophthalmologists, emergency doctors and optometrists who are trained and authorised to remove foreign bodies from a patient's eye. Rust is normally caused by an iron particle accidentally touching the patient's cornea or sclera. When the iron particle (usually a spark produced by a grinding wheel or welding torch) enters the eye, it, combined with the moisture in the eye, will cause rust rings.
The AlgerBrush II is used for the express purpose of removing these rust rings from the eye.
The AlgerBrush II has a very low-torque motor powered by a single AA battery.
The drill in this rotary instrument essentially "brushes" the rust ring off the cornea or sclera, leaving a smooth surface that in turn heals much faster and cleaner than other instruments that can be used for this purpose.
